One of These Days

Adventure Awaits

...But not for long.

Too often we say, "One of these days..." I am going to travel (explore, visit, see, go and do, etc.).  At 50, looking at my physical prowess in the rear view mirror, I have decided that I am done saying, "One of these days..."

If we wait until we are retired we won't have the energy or the strength to travel- or to enjoy it.  I have lost too many friends to the grave who will never see retirement.  I have arthritis and a diabetes and diabetic neuropathy which threatens to sideline me someday.  Waiting until someday looks like a barrel of regrets to me.

In May 2017, our family traveled to San Diego.  A beautiful part of our country.  Exceptional climate, but overcrowded as is most of Southern California.  My eldest son was to be married and we met his new family.  We toured his Navy base, Coronado Island, Balboa Park, Mission Beach, Sea Port Village- all were a walker's paradise.  We marveled at the diverse flora and my wife, who is a photographer revelled in the sights  It was a smooth adventure.  We had great flights on Frontier Airlines- a very good experience and affordable.  We Ubered everywhere we needed to go.  I was grateful not to have to drive in that traffic.  One more thing: the people of San Diego are serious foodies, so bring your appetite.  Everyday is Taco Tuesday.
